Remembrance Day

Canadians have a proud history of honoring our veterans, and showing gratitude for the unimaginable sacrifices our troops have made. Canadians show the utmost gratitude to our troops on the 11th of November every year, honoring a tradition dating back to 1931.

    The Act of Remembrance

    They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
We will remember them.

A Remembrance Day hybrid ceremony will be held in Warman, at the Legends Center at 10:30am. Attendance will be limited to 200 people including speakers, colour party and invited guests. Please join us in honoring our troops on November 11th, virtually, or in person. The city of Warman will be streaming the ceremony on their Facebook page, and YouTube channel starting at 10:30am on November 11th.

Legion did a great video discussing the history of poppies and the significance they play on Remembrance day.

This year marks 100 years of poppies. This tradition has existed in Canada since July 1921, but was not formally accepted by other veterans organizations in Canada until 1925.

City of Warman will be streaming the ceremony on both their Facebook page, and on their YouTube channel. Links to both will be provided below
